Drums of Fire Over the years that I have been involved in ministry, the Lord has powerfully blessed our times of worship and intercession, and as I have played the drums (as well as keyboards and other instruments), we have seen the Lord spontaneously heal and deliver many people. We stand in awe of Him and what He accomplishes through this ministry. The article is only available to those who are members of Drummers for Jesus, but you can look at their web site by clicking on the logo beneath and also read the articles by clicking here: The Use Of The Drum In Warfare Drums have always been connected with warfare, and no continent is more synonymous with the use of the drum in warfare than Africa. The rhythmic beat of the drum can heighten morale and adrenaline in warriors, as well as create a feeling of dread in the enemy.
A look at the history of warfare shows that drums have been used for many thousands of years in warfare all across the world, in the ancient civilisations of Africa, Asia, Europe, Australasia and the Americas. It seems that the drum has a universal appeal for use in warfare.
God spoke to me very clearly and directly during a conference in Kroonstad. He told me that He wanted to use me to lead forth His warriors into spiritual warfare through the use of the drums. God has spoken to me that He is taking back from the devil all of the ground that he has stolen from the Church, and this is one such area that he has stolen.
Satan, unlike God, cannot create, but can only counterfeit and corrupt that which already exists. As such, he has corrupted the use of the drum and other instruments, to be a sound that brings forth the worst in man, as in natural warfare, and that can also invoke demons to come forth in pagan ceremonies and occult rituals.
God is calling forth His warriors at this time to come forth and do battle, and among the major weapons that He has given us, other than those listed in Ephesians 6, are praise and worship.
For this, and other reasons, the church has been slow to make advances in the use of music as a means of spiritual warfare, and it is really only in recent years that the advances have been made into this area.
Let us press into God and release the new sounds that He is bringing to the earth at this crucial time in history.

Below is a selection of testimonies regarding what the Lord has done during times of prophetic and intercessory drumming: Drums Of Fire |  | One particular event which has really blessed me was a miraculous healing that came in a very unusual way. Again I was playing the drums in spiritual warfare, and as I was playing, a young man was healed from a very nasty gash on his face from where he had fallen that day. His father testified that he had seen his son's face heal up in front of his eyes as I played the drums in warfare! God is so wonderful, and He moves in truly amazing ways!
During the conference, many people were touched deeply by the Holy Spirit, and many of the church leaders from around the area were radically transformed. This type of spontaneous healing shows us that God does indeed "move in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform". | 
| | During a conference that I was ministering at in New York State, the Lord led me to pray for a lady who had fibromyalgia. Again, He did this in an unusual way, as He asked me to wrap the lady in a large piece of golden material (which we usually use for "billowing" in worship) and play the drums whilst she was prayed for. As I played the drums and others prayed for her, she later reported that she felt a cold sensation running through her body. Usually with fibromyalgia people feel sensations of heat, and so when the lady felt a sensation of cold running through her body, she was aware that the Lord was moving upon her by His Spirit. Later, she reported that the Lord had healed her. Praise God! As with prophetic drumming and worship, which the Lord often uses to bring healing and deliverance to people, as we follow God and do what He is asking us to, even if it seems strange to our natural minds, we can have faith that God will do what He has promised. | 
| | When we ask God for Him to lead us and as we do what He is asking us to do, we can have a lot of fun along the way! One of the ways in which the Lord allows me to have fun whilst ministering to people is in the area of drumming. I have often experienced people being healed (both inner healing and physical healing) as I play the drums in interecession and worship sessions. As a drummer, for me that is so much fun and a real encouragement too! God is eternally creative and wants us to be creative too and to have fun! I am grateful for this, and I will always count this a real privilege and honour! | 
| | Many times during worship, in the various countries that we have ministered in, we have experienced the Lord bringing people spontaneous deliverance, often when I am playing the drums in warfare and intercession. Without anyone praying for people, but just by pressing into the presence of the Lord, we have experienced people healed and delivered, and where this happens, we trust the Lord completely that He knows exactly what He is doing. In the presence of the Lord, there is indeed FREEDOM! | | One thing that I love seeing is when people begin to bend and move and even do war dances as I play war beats on the drums. Often I find out afterwards that some of the people who have been moving with the beat and dancing have been healed or set free emotionally as I have played. I have come to recognise when this is taking place, as I watch what is happening around me and it is always encouraging to see God healing people in this way. What a creative God we serve! |
